HDMI Connectivity Fixer with Audio De-Embedding and Down-convert.
KD-FIX418A-2 is a 4K 18G HDMI connectivity repair and audio de-embedding solution. It is designed for HDMI signal correction, extension, and coupling in all AV applications.
Analog and digital audio de-embedding is facilitated through 3.5mm analog stereo and optical digital connectors to enable integration of HDMI-only audio sources into distributed audio systems, audio DSPs, amplifiers, or sound bars.
The KD-FIX418A-2 provides EDID authentication to the connected input/source. The EDID rotary aids selection of the EDID file (AKA “handshake”) on the unit.
The EDID file provides a list of compatible video and audio formats as well as digital data. This informs the source device what it should output.
Adjustments may speed up sync time during source selection.
Hot-plug detection (HPD) may be lost in cases of many layers of connectivity or non-standard devices in-line. This leads to the video source not detecting a display/sync device and not outputting a signal.
With the help of the Forced HPD troubleshooting tool, the Hot Plug Detection voltage is fixed ON to the connected source. This informs the HPD that it always has a live sync/display to receive its signal.
When set to ON, KD-FIX418A-2 will down-convert incoming 4K content to 1080p. All non-4K incoming content passes through without resolution conversion.
KD-FIX418A-2 supports several SD, HD, VESA, and Ultra HD 4K video standards. It also includes HDR header information in many built-in 4K EDID handshakes to optimize the viewing experience.
